Dear Members of EEA-NJ and KEEA:
We value you as a member of our sister trade associations for the energy efficiency industry, the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance and the Energy Efficiency Alliance of New Jersey.
If you haven’t been active lately or you aren’t sure just what your membership does for you, here’s a quick reminder of the benefits of being part of KEEA and EEA-NJ below. Monthly Policy Update calls on the last Friday of every month with briefings on key legislative and regulatory issues in our states — whether utility-based energy efficiency programs, federal funding applications or bills designed to hamper the progress of heat pumps or community solar. This is also a great chance to meet your industry peers. Plus you get an email legislative update summary every month for each state!

Member Listening Sessions – We regularly conduct sessions open to our members to collect your input to help to shape our policy agenda and positions. Already, we’ve conducted listening sessions and submitted comments this year in response to:
- The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Request for Information on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Section 50121 Home Energy Performance-Based Whole House Rebates and Section 50122: High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program
- and to DOE’s Request for Information on BIL section 40503 (the Energy Auditor Training Grant Program, or EAT); BIL section 40513 (the Career Skills Training program, or CST); and IRA section 50123 (the State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training program, or Contractor Training Program).
Plus, we’ve asked you about C-PACE lending in New Jersey, where our efforts have helped to finally get some program guidelines released. AND we’ve asked for your thoughts to shape our comments on the Board of Public Utilities’ next phase of the EE programs — responding to their straw proposals for Program Administration and Design, Filing and Reporting Requirements, Cost Recovery and Topic 2, Energy Efficiency as a Resource and Evaluation, Measurement, and Verification (EM&V). In mid-May, we held a legislative Lunch & Learn event on Heat Pumps and electrification at the State House in Trenton.
In Pennsylvania, we’ve asked you about Act 129 reform as we plan to submit comments to the PUC. Plus, we’ve gotten the attention of legislators and regulators in efforts to secure permanent funding for the Whole Home Repair Program, including May lobbying efforts for WHRP in Harrisburg with a number of our members and collaborating partners. And we served on the new Governor’s Transition Team for Energy & Environment — all while we continue to beat the drum for successful RGGI rollout in the Commonwealth. In short, we’re busy advocating for you and what will help to better our industry.
Industry Training – We have reinstated our “Indispensable EE” series of webinars. Last fall, we started with a Heat Pumps 101 event and this year held the webinar “Diversify or Die: Supply Chain Expansion.” Already we are lining up workshops on the new Building Codes and EE and Induction Cooking and Electrification. If YOUR company has timely, special information to share, we’d love to explore setting up a training webinar that features your capacity!
Expanding Your Network! – Whether at our conference, our candidate education series, one of our Workforce Development events, or Happy Hours we are holding, being part of a committee or just helping us to think through issues, participation in KEEA & EEA-NJ heightens your personal profile, along with that of your company while helping you to make valuable business relationships.
